StickyNote Privacy Policy

1. Overview

StickyNote is a browser extension that lets users write notes on web pages and restore them when revisiting the same URL.

2. Data We Process

• Note content entered by the user.
• Note metadata (position, color, collapsed state, timestamps).
• Page key information based on URL (origin + pathname).
• User settings (allowed domains, default note color).

3. Where Data Is Stored

By default, data is stored in the browser using chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.sync.

StickyNote does not run its own backend server for default note storage.

4. Data Sharing and Transmission

StickyNote does not sell personal data.

If the user uses the share-link feature, note data may be included in a generated share link and shared by the user with others. In this case, the shared data is determined and initiated by user action.

5. Purpose of Processing

• Provide core note features on web pages.
• Restore notes automatically on revisit.
• Allow backup and restore of user data (JSON export/import).

6. Retention and Deletion

Data is retained until the user deletes notes, clears extension data, or removes the extension from the browser.
